Train. Transform. Perform: Inside the NTN Stage Actors Training Lab
Desiree Mentor | Public Relations Officer, NTN
If you’ve ever stood in the wings of a theatre, heart pounding, waiting for your cue… You know there’s nothing quite like the stage. It’s electric. It’s vulnerable. It’s real. But behind every great performance is one thing most people don’t see: training.
That’s where the NTN Stage Actors Training Lab 2025 comes in.
Launched under the Edu-Train programme by the National Theatre of Namibia (NTN), this lab isn’t your typical acting class. It’s an intensive, hands-on experience designed for aspiring and professional Namibian actors who are serious about their craft. Whether you’re brand new to the scene or already hustling in theatre circles, this programme meets you where you are and pushes you forward.
What You’ll Experience…
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 14h00 to 17h00, actors gather at the NTN Rehearsal Room in Windhoek for sessions that dig deep. And we’re not just talking about memorising lines. We’re talking voice and breath work, character development, scene study, movement, physical acting, and even audition tips.
Think: vocal warm-ups that wake up your entire body, improvisation games that stretch your spontaneity, and moments of real, raw performance that remind you why you fell in love with acting in the first place.
And the best part? You’re learning from local professionals who know the industry, understand the challenges, and are passionate about helping Namibian talent rise.
Why This is Worth Your Time…
Because training is the difference between being good… and being unforgettable.
Because theatre in Namibia deserves actors who are confident, capable, and bold.
And because this lab is affordable at just N$50 per class, it’s one of the most accessible ways to grow your skills and career.
How to Prepare…
Come ready to move, to listen, to take risks, and to support your fellow actors. Dress comfortably, bring water, and show up on time. It’s a shared space, a shared commitment. And yeah, you’re probably going to sweat a bit. That’s the good kind of training.
Join the Movement!
This isn’t just a class. It’s a community. It’s a launchpad. It’s your chance to train, transform, and perform like never before.
