The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) proudly presents the Stage Actors Training Lab 2025; an intensive training programme under the NTN Edu-Train programme, designed to equip aspiring and professional Namibian actors with the skills necessary to grow and thrive in the theatre sector. Facilitated by local professional theatre practitioners, this initiative offers hands-on, practical training in a collaborative and inspiring space. Whether interested participants are just starting out or already practising and looking to refine their craft, this lab is tailored to support their artistic journey.
Interested participants can expect in-depth weekly sessions focused on both performance and professional development. Training areas include Voice & Speech (breath control, articulation, vocal range, clarity), Acting Technique and Text Analysis, Classical and Contemporary Performance Techniques, Character Development, and Scene Work. Physical awareness will be developed through training in Movement and Physical Acting, including spatial awareness, the body-mind connection, and expressive movement. The training schedule will be structured to accommodate both beginner and advanced levels.

Actors will also engage in Improvisation, explore various Styles of Acting (such as comedic and dramatic forms), and strengthen skills in Storytelling, Spontaneity, and Active Listening. A key component of the programme is Professional Development & Etiquette, covering audition preparation, CV writing, marketing strategies, industry ethics, and proactive career planning.
The programme continues in February 2026 and will run every Saturdays at 09H00-13H00, at the NTN Rehearsal Room in Windhoek. Sessions are available at a subsidised rate of N$50 per class, payable in advance. Participants are expected to arrive on time, dress comfortably to allow ease of movement during physical activities and bring their own water bottles to stay hydrated throughout the sessions.

Daily workshop tickets must be purchased in advance from Stage Actors Lab Training (webtickets online) or at Model (formerly Pick n Pay) outlets nationwide. Only ticket holders will be granted entry through the NTN Backstage entrance. Please note that interested participants must be 18 years and older, and all workshops will be conducted in English. The training is open to aspiring, emerging, and professional actors with a commitment to growth and artistic discipline.
This is a unique opportunity for participants to invest in their talent, gain practical tools, and connect with a network of passionate theatre-makers. Whether participants are preparing for the stage or building a long-term career, the Stage Actors Training Lab will help them Train. Perform. Excel.
