Namibian Theatre & Film Awards Return in 2026
The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN), in partnership with the Namibia Film Commission (NFC), proudly announces the return of the Namibian Theatre & Film Awards (NTFAs), taking place on Thursday, 19 March 2026, at the National Theatre of Namibia.
The NTFAs celebrate creative excellence, resilience, and cultural impact across Namibia’s theatre and film sectors, honouring individuals and productions that have shaped the nation’s creative and cultural sector.
“The NTFAs continue to grow as a celebration of the diverse voices and craftsmanship that make Namibian storytelling possible,” says Alma Ulamba, General Manager of the NTN.
Florence Haifene, Executive Secretary of the NFC, adds, “This return marks an exciting moment for our industry, embracing new categories that reflect the depth and innovation of local storytelling.”

- Eligibility: Films released between 1 September 2019 and 20 November 2025

- Judging Period Ends: 30 November 2025
- Eligibility: Productions staged from 1 December 2019 – 30 November 2025

Theatre Applicants:
Applicants are encouraged to submit their requests for the judging of theatre productions, whether for upcoming performances or recorded works. Theatre and dance production applicants are highly recommended to complete and submit the application forms available here.
