Mponenang is the story about an orphaned girl, Segametse, and how her aunty,Mmadipuo, mistreats her.Segametse`s mother passed away recently and Mmadipuo was entrusted and tasked by the rest of the family to look after Segametse.

Mmadipuo agreed and moved from the city with her daughter Lorato and settle in Segametse`s homestead, which she inherited from her deceased mother. As soon as Mmadipuo was settled she started mistreating Segametse, making her a domestic worker and abusing her physically,mentally and psychologically. This treatment frustrated Segametse but since she was a child she tolerated the treatment. Lorato on the other hand was growing up and noticed the different treatment her mother gave to her and segametse. She could not do much but with time she grew fond of Segametse and this angered Mmadipuo. Will Segametse continue to tolerate the abuse or will she put an end to it????

The answer can only be found by watching the play.

The Metsweding Youth Theatre group was the first runner up in the NTN 2008 Youth Theatre Festival and has been in Germany from the 8-24 May participating with their play in a Theatre Festival organised in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of the International Donor Funding Agency "Bread for the World". The fully coverd trip to Germany was part of their winning prize.
