Based on a true life story, “A friend in Need” is set in Khomasdal and tells the story of a group of teenagers going through difficult times.  The play covers social issues such as love and betrayal, alcohol and drug abuse, loyalty and rivalry”. The play is written and directed by Marelize Maletsky under the mentorship of David Ndjavera.

Actors:  Donavan Van Schalkwyk, Lizel Jankowsky, Arlene Mouton, Stanley Gariseb, Pontsettia Van Wyk, Guy-Willson Mbuba, Angelique China, Hubert Kavandje, Steven Afrikaner and Sylvani Beukes.

The Theatre Zone Project is a Theatre Developmental Project of NTN, which assists aspiring Scriptwriters/Directors financially, technically and with marketing and promotion to stage their works at the NTN. 

In addition, the participants undergo a Skills Development Workshop on scriptwriting and directing, trough a Mentorship Program.
