The Golden Pen National Script Writing Competition

Initiated in 1998, the objective of the Golden Pen is to give incentive to Namibian scriptwriters to write new theatre plays for presentation to the Namibian audience, to develop the local theatre industry and to create awareness for locally produced theatre plays in general.

Held Bi-annually, 1998 and 2001 resulted in overwhelming participation by young and upcoming playwrights. The winners scripts were published in the ‘New Namibian Play Volume I and II' series by Gamsberg Macmillan in 2000 and 2002 respectively. These books are resources in both secondary schools, Tertiary Education Institutions, and other resource centres across Namibia .

For 2007-2008 period, NTN is staging the English literature set-work Mr. Harold and the Boys for the Grade 11 and 12 learners.
