The National Theatre of Namibia (NTN) launched A Sistah Thang in 2007 to use different elements of arts to recognize and celebrate the essence of womanhood.   NTN presents Divas Night Out in support of the Annual Namibian Women Summit 2011. This eventful music program  brings together some of Namibia’s finest divas (Patricia, Stella, Sharon, Tequila and introducing Imelda)  to share the stage with the guest artist, Prudence Katomene(Zimbabwe) setting  the stage alight with some of their own compositions and timeless classics honoring some greats such as Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, Roberta Flack, Brenda Fassie …backed-up by the popular Heritage Band, Jacus Krige  and the fast rising saxaphonist Suzi Eises.   The program is set over three nights; with the opening night reserved for the delegates of the Annual Women Summit and the remaining two public events. We wish to use the power of music to bring healing, celebrate the essence of womanhood, to have lekker fun and sommer lag ‘n bietjie at life …   So, you are all encouraged to shake off the woes of the winter nights and join the divas in song and celebration.   Date: 12 & 13 August 2011 (10 August 2011– exclusively for Namibian Women Summit delegates)   Venue: NTN – Backstage  - Time: 19:00 for 20:00 - Entrance: N$100.00
